What is the difference between a 2-year and a 10-year Ceramic Coating?

It comes down to chemical density and longevity. Our Gyeon EVO (2-3 Year) coatings offer incredible hydrophobic "self-cleaning" for daily drivers. Our Magnum Luminous X (7-10 Year) coatings are professional-grade, permanent ceramic shields. My car is brand new from the dealership. Why does it need detailing?

"Factory Fresh" does not mean "Flawless." Most new cars are subjected to aggressive rapid-washes at the port or dealership, which causes fine scratches known as delivery marring. Furthermore, dealership "protection" packages are often low-quality sealants applied by untrained staff. To ensure a Permanent Bond, ceramic coatings require a temperature-controlled, dust-free environment. High-humidity or wind-blown dust on a driveway can ruin the application, leading to "high spots" or premature failure. For all Magnum 7 & 10-Year services, we require the vehicle to be in our secure Malvern studio to guarantee the integrity of the coating.
